Premiership Football Tips – 13-14 September

After predicting results for Chelsea and Crystal Palace away from home last time out, Premier League betting expert Shawn Retsam returns from the international break with a feast of Premiership betting tips.

Premiership Football Tips

Arsenal (3.00) v Manchester City (2.45); Draw (3.50)

Arsenal will be looking to continue their unbeaten run this season, with Premier League champions Manchester City the visitors to the Emirates Stadium in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger is expected to name deadline day signing Danny Welbeck at the front of the Gunners attack, fresh from scoring a brace for England on international duty.

Key midfielder Aaron Ramsey is unlikely to be risked, but Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta and Kieran Gibbs are all fit.

Arsenal are looking to protect an unbeaten home record that stretches back 19 games in the Premier League, but the Gunners have won just two of their last nine matches against the Citizens in all competitions.

Opponents Manchester City will be looking to recreate their title-winning away form from last season, with a trip to North London to face Arsenal on Saturday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have scored two or more goals in six of their last seven matches away from home in the Premier League, but the Citizens will have to do without the early form of striker Stevan Jovetic who misses out due to a hamstring injury.

Central defender Eliaquim Mangala could be handed his debut, whilst veteran midfielder Frank Lampard could also feature.

Arsenal had the worst record against the top-four sides in the Premier League last season and the Gunners could find themselves unstuck again.

Manchester City 0, +0.5 Asian Handicap @1.50

West Brom (3.50) v Everton (2.25); Draw (3.40)

West Brom’s comprehensive 3-0 loss at the Liberty Stadium last time out left plenty of work for new boss Alan Irvine to do, with the Baggies yet to pick up a victory this season.

West Brom have failed to win nine of their last 10 matches at the Hawthorns in the Premier League and with a total of 11 new signings this summer, it might take some time for Alan Irvine to iron out his best team and line-up.

Summer signing Joleon Lescott could make his debut however, whilst Ben Foster looks set to play in goal despite withdrawing from the England camp.

Opponents Everton will be looking to build upon their early bounty of goals, after firing seven goals in the opening three games of the Premier League.

Roberto Martinez will hand late fitness tests to Leon Osman and Samuel Eto’o, but Republic of Ireland midfielder Aiden McGeady again looked sharp on international duty.

Record signing Romelu Lukaku will come up against the club he played for last season, whilst Steven Naismith will be looking to carry on his record of scoring in every Premier League game so far this season.

Everton have conceded an alarming ten goals so far, but with eight of them coming against Chelsea and Arsenal, the Toffees should secure a much more effective result on Saturday.

Everton 0 Asian Handicap @1.55

Southampton (1.80) v Newcastle (5.00); Draw (3.75)

Newcastle will be targeting their first win in the Premiership of the season, with a trip to Southampton this weekend.

The Magpies injury list continues to grow with Siem de Jong suffering a thigh injury, which could keep the forward out for a few months.

Manager Alan Pardew will also be without Davide Santon and bright spark Rolando Aarons, but enforcer Chiekh Tiote crucially returns in the centre of midfield.

Opponents Southampton could hand debuts to Saido Mane and Toby Alderwield, but Ronald Koeman’s other signings including Graziano Pelle are yet to shine.

Southampton have lost just one of their last 21 meetings against Newcastle at home in the league, but the volume of changes at St Mary’s may yet take time to blend in.

Newcastle may find the going less-pressurised away from home and the betting odds of the visitors in the Double Chance market appear well priced this weekend.
