Premiership Football Betting Review. Gameweek 11
JD 05/11/2010
This week the spotlight falls on Premier League leaders Chelsea’s trip to a resurgent looking Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, but the betting focus falls on somewhat less prestigious fixtures.
Inter Milan’s midweek Champions League conquerers Tottenham take on Bolton at the Reebok Stadium where both teams have not kept a clean sheet since the opening game of the season. Goals for both teams looks on the cards.
Both teams to score (Bolton v Tottenham) @1.72
With the rejuvenated Emile Heskey under Gerard Houllier out injured, Villa’s attack would have turned to the big Norwegian John Carew, although he himself has been ruled out so the Villa frontline will now be spearheaded by the promising rookie Nathan Delfouneso. The odds of under 2.5 goals are not particularly appealing at 1.57, but considering Villa however have not scored in nearly 350 minutes of football the better value is to be had in a Fulham clean sheet.
Fulham clean sheet (v Villa) @2.25
Sunderland were humiliated by local arch rivals Newcastle last week, so much so that both Niall Quinn and Darren Bent publicly apologised. Early reports suggest record signing Asamoah Gyan will make his first start of the season alongside the goal machine Darren Bent. Sunderland’s home form is solid with only Manchester United winning there since Boxing Day 2009 and Stoke have not won at the Stadium of Light since 1994. Stoke have lost 5 out of the last 6 away from home and have lost four consecutive games in all competitions. Sunderland will have a point to prove and look good value against a struggling Stoke side.
Sunderland to win @2.0
