Premiership Betting Tips – 16-17 April

The battle for the top four dominates the midweek fixtures in the Premier League this week, as Arsenal host Everton on Tuesday, with Chelsea travelling to Fulham on Wednesday.

Sportingly Better picks out the best value Premiership betting tips over the next two days.

Premiership Betting Tips

Arsenal (1.66) v Everton (5.25); Draw (4.20)

Arsenal’s win on Saturday may have hinged on debatable circumstances, but the victory over Norwich proved enough to lift the Gunners up to third in the table, as Arsene Wenger’s side close in on another top four finish.

Champions League qualification remains a real prospect for Arsenal, who have won seven of their last eight matches in the Premier League, but the visit of Everton is a game that will be keenly contested, with the Toffees still harbouring their own hopes of European football.

Theo Walcott is likely to replace Gervinho in attack, whilst Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker could both be available.

Arsenal have scored two or more goals in each of their last four matches in the Premier League and with Tottenham not playing until Sunday, Arsenal have a chance to fire themselves four points clear of Spurs and seven points clear of Everton.

Visitors Everton secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over QPR last time out and the Toffees will carry some hope going into tonight’s match, after winning three of their last four games in the Premier League.

Midfielder Marouane Fellaini unsettled the Gunners in the reverse fixture back in November and manager Arsene Wenger will need to address how he handles the intimidating Belgium international this time round.

Victory tonight would bring the Merseyside club deep into the mix for European qualification, but Everton’s record of losing 12 of their last 14 away matches at Arsenal is one that manager David Moyes will want to ignore.

Arsenal are favourites to claim all three points tonight, but Everton have picked up six score draws on the road this season and both teams should find the net in a crucial battle at the top of the table.

Fulham (4.75) v Chelsea (1.80); Draw (3.80)

Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final defeat on Sunday will need to be quickly forgotten, as the Blues look to use their game in hand to move three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham in the league.

Chelsea have won their last five matches at home in the Premiership, but it is the London club’s recent form away from Stamford Bridge that has caused concern, with the Blues having lost their last three games away from home.

John Terry and Frank Lampard could both be recalled by Rafa Benitez, who will have to decide between Fernando Torres and Demba Ba in attack.

Chelsea have conceded two or more goals in each of their last four away games in the Premier League and the continued absence of defenders Gary Cahill and Ashely Cole could see that record continuing.

Hosts Fulham have lost just one of their last seven games in the Premier League and a win for Martin Jol’s side on Wednesday could pull the Cottagers into the same points bracket as surprise packages West Brom and Swansea.

Only Tottenham and Manchester United have stopped Fulham from scoring at Craven Cottage in the league this season and the form of their enigmatic star; Dimitar Berbatov will once again have a big baring on Fulham’s goalscoring chances.

Eyong Enoh and Emmanuel Frimpong will compete for a spot in the centre of the Cottagers midfield, whilst Damien Duff misses out with a thigh injury.

Chelsea have not lost any of their last 14 head to head meetings against Fulham in all competitions, but the European champions problems away from home could leave that record in jeopardy on Wednesday.
