Arsenal rushed in a total of five players before the transfer window shut with defenders Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos, seasoned midfielders Mikel Arteta and Yossi Bennayoun and forward Chu-Young Park all arriving. With Arsenal’s current crop of injuries and suspensions a large number of these recruits will likely take to the field at the Emirates against Swansea.
Arsenal are without a win in the league this season and three points against newly promoted Swansea is vital, especially with Swansea having not managed a single point or a single goal so far this term. The Gunners have the quality to put this game to bed and both the players and Arsene Wenger will have a point to prove following the 8-2 humiliation at the hands of champions Manchester United. Vorm has impressed between the sticks for Swansea but Arsenal will be desperate for three points against on Saturday.

Bolton have had a spate of serious injuries to contend with early in the season, but American midfielder Stuart Holden has an outside chance of featuring for The Trotters in Saturday’s late kick off. Bolton finished with a late flurry of transfer activity with the loan signings of Gael Kakuta and Dedryk Boyata as well as the signing of David N’Gog.
Owen Coyle’s side have had an exceptionally difficult start to the season but their confidence has not wavered, scoring in every game so far in the Premier League. The opening day win against QPR looks more and more important especially with champions Manchester United up next at the Reebok Stadium.
Manchester United go into the game in supreme form after an 8-2 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford last time out. United are still nursing injuries to their backline and David De Gea, whilst looking increasingly confident does not have the same air of assurance that Van Der Sar commanded between the sticks. With Rooney and Young forming a strong partnership goals again seem likely for both sides.
