Premier League Football Tips – 9-11 May

It was another winning double last week as Leicester swept aside Newcastle and Chelsea secured the title with a win to nil against Crystal Palace.

West Ham’s trip to in-form Aston Villa and Newcastle’s home match against West Brom provide the football tips from this weekend’s Premier League action.

Premier League Football Tips

Aston Villa (1.95) v West Ham (4.20); Draw (3.60)

Tim Sherwood’s arrival has injected life into the Midlands club and none more so than Christian Benteke whose now scored 11 in 9 games. The Belgian will be keen to fire Villa to safety against a West Ham side out of form in 2015.

Back-to-back clean sheets will please Sam Allardyce but they’ve come up against QPR and Burnley and with all due respect look to be dead and buried. West Ham have sorely missed Diafrou Sakho and Andy Carroll upfront and has left them short of attacking options.

Both sides defensively are missing players with Winston Reid and James Tomkins of West Ham both missing and Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker of Villa also injured.

A defeat for Villa could see them drop into the relegation zone if results go against them so expect Sherwood to have his side motivated to get another 3 points towards the trusted ’40 point’ mark.

Newcastle (2.60) v West Brom (3.00); Draw (3.30)

It is now 8 defeats on the bounce for Newcastle United and Mike Ashley may have made the devastating mistake of allowing Alan Pardew to leave when he thought the club had accumulated enough points to secure another season in the Premier League.

Now they sit just 2 points above rivals Sunderland and face a massive fight in their remaining 3 games. West Brom just secured a massive 1-0 victory at Manchester United and that took Tony Pulis’s side to 40 points which looks likely to be enough points on the board to insure survival.

Mike Williamson and Daryl Janmaat were both sent off in the 3-0 defeat against Leicester and leaves John Carver desperately short of options. It could mean Ryan Taylor dropping back into right back with Paul Dummett moving from left back into a central defensive position.

Tony Pulis is unlikely to change from the side that gave him his most impressive result since taking over at West Brom and it was also his side’s 3rd clean sheet in a row. Ben Foster is their only injury concern and Boaz Myhill has been a worthy replacement since stepping in.

Depending on how courageous you feel, the odds for West Brom to win are particularly persuasive but the draw no bet market gives you some insurance if Newcastle do finally decide to perform.
