Premier League Betting Tips – 31 April – 1 May

An emphatic 6-1 victory over QPR at Stamford Bridge left Chelsea firmly in the hunt for the last remaining Champions League place.

Roman Abramovich’s Blues are now unbeaten in six in the league scoring 12 goals in the last five home games. Much-maligned striker Fernando Torres followed up his goal against Barcelona with a hat-trick against QPR and the Spanish striker  is now seemingly full of confidence. Only defenders Gary Cahill and David Luiz remain sidelined and a win for Chelsea would ensure the Blues leapfrog Newcastle in the table.

Newcastle’s run of six consecutive victories was brought to a crashing halt as Roberto Martinez’s amiable Wigan side came away with a 4-0 victory at the DW Stadium. Seven of Newcastle’s nine defeats have come away from the Sports Direct Arena this season with the Magpies having conceded 31 goals away from home.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture 3-0 with goals from Drogba, Kalou and Sturridge and another victory looks likely for Roberto Di Matteo, who continues to enhance his growing reputation.
