Premier League Betting Tips 27th & 28th August

Liverpool return to Premier League action for the first time since a notable 2-0 away win at Arsenal. Since then Liverpool have navigated passed Exeter in the League cup, with both Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll finding the back of the net.

Both Gerrard and Meireles are ruled out, whilst Glen Johnson may not be risked with Martin Kelly deputising well in defence. Bolton have a number of injuries with Ricketts, Mears, Holden and Lee all unavailable, whilst doubts surround both Ricardo Gardner and Steinsson, but Owen Coyle has showed that his depleted Bolton side should not be underestimated.

Liverpool continue to build momentum under Kenny Dalglish and the Reds have also won the last 6 meetings against Bolton at Anfield; a sequence, which should continue on Saturday.

Manchester United were in fine form on Monday night against Tottenham and continue to impress especially going forward, with Ashley Young looking instantly at home in the Red Devil’s side. Cleverley, Smalling and Welbeck have all earned their recent regular starting berths on merit and David De Gea put in an improved performance, which will be encouraging for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford and Arsene Wenger may have one eye on the transfer market for the next week or so in order to appease the fans and reinstate Arsenal’s ambitions. Arsenal are up against it and have a number of injuries to contend with. Nasri has left to join Manchester City and Wilshere, Diaby, Song and Gibbs are all ruled out. Doubts surround Squillaci and Koscielny, but the suspension of Gervinho is a crucial blow with the Ivorian looking particularly dangerous in attack for the Gunners.

Manchester United have a good recent record against Arsenal at Old Trafford winning 6 of the last 7 meetings in all competitions and the Premier League champions are likely to add to Arsenal’s woes and add to the pressure mounting on Arsene Wenger.
