Premier League Betting Tips – 11 May
Selections from the final game of the Premier League season make up the best bets for our Premiership football betting tips this weekend, as Liverpool host Newcastle.
Premiership Football Tips
Liverpool (1.22) v Newcastle (13.00); Draw (7.50)
Liverpool will be looking to keep their slim hopes of lifting the Premier League title alive, with Newcastle the visitors to Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds surrendered a three-goal lead going into the final 11 minutes at Selhurst Park; a capitulation that has almost certainly ended the club’s title hopes.
That defensive naivety has been present for some time, with the Merseyside club having conceded two or more goals in each of their last four games in the league.
Liverpool do however remain full of goals, with the Redshaving scored two or more goals in 12 of their last 13 matches in the Premiership; a run that has left the club one goal short of 100 Premiership goals for the season.
Midfielder Jordan Henderson returns from suspension and should go straight back into Brendan Rodgers starting’ line-up, in what is likely to be the only change for the home side.
Opponents Newcastle arrested a run of six straight defeats, with a 3-0 win over relegated Cardiff last time out.
The Magpies have faced problems up front all season, but striker Loic Remy is still a capable player at this level, amidst rumours the player is looking to move on this summer.
The visitors have failed to score in six of their last seven games in the Premier League, but Liverpool’s defensive naivety could leave the out-of-form side as unlikely scorers on Sunday.
Liverpool are unbeaten in 17 of their last 18 matches in the Premiership and although a win for Liverpool may prove to be academic, the Reds will be looking to finish the season on a high, in what looks likely to be another entertaining encounter with Newcastle.
