Arsenal will be looking to get their season back on track on Sunday, with Liverpool the visitors to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have won just one of their last four games in all competitions, but last week’s 5-1 demolition against Liverpool will undoubtedly be fresh in the memory of the hosts.
Arsenal have however yet to concede in the FA Cup during this season’s competition and Gerard Deulofeu’s goal for Everton in December remains the last time that Arsenal have conceded at home in the league.
Record signing Mesut Ozil has come under question in recent weeks, with the German playmaker yet to replicate his early burst of form into English football.
Arsenal will be again without Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla, but left back Kieran Gibbs could maintain his place in the side ahead of Spanish full back Nacho Monreal.
Opponents Liverpool are unbeaten in all competitions in 2014, with last weekend’s late victory at Craven Cottage bringing the Reds arguably back into the title race.
The FA Cup still remains Liverpool’s best chance of silverware this term, with the Reds having navigated their way through the fifth round on six of the last eight occasions in the competition.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are somewhat surprisingly only the fifth favourites to win the FA Cup at 8.00, a trading angle that may appeal to many punters prior to this weekend’s matches.
The form of striker Daniel Sturridge has been spectacular with the England international having scored in eight successive matches for Liverpool and the forward is likely to form part of many anytime goalscorer accumulator bets this weekend with odds of 2.50 somewhat enticing.
Arsenal carry a huge head-to-head advantage over Liverpool at home having lost just one of their last 17 matches against the Reds in all competitions, but Brendan Rodger’s attacking verve should see the Reds secure their qualification against the Gunners somewhat lethargic attack.
