Accumulator Tips – 23-24 February

Selections from the Championship, Football League and the Premiership make up the bets for this weekend’s football accumulator tips, returning odds of 6.70 for the treble.

Accumulator Bets

Watford (1.80) v Derby (4.50); Draw (4.00)

Watford’s tenth away win of the season brought the Hornets to within three points of second placed Hull and Gianfranco Zola’s side look increasingly likely to gun down their promotion rivals before the season is over.

Watford have scored at least two goals in 10 of their last 11 matches in the Championship and the form of strike duo Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra has been particularly important for the Hornets this season.

Opponents Derby have won just one of their last seven matches in the Championship and the Rams look again on course to finish the season anonymously in mid table.

Nigel Clough’s side have conceded at least two goals in eight of their last 10 away matches in the league and Watford’s superior finishing should be too much for Derby this weekend.

Northampton (1.90) v Plymouth (4.20); Draw (3.75)

Northampton’s draw away at AFC Wimbledon left the Cobblers firmly in the hunt for promotion and the play-off hopefuls will be hoping for all three points on Saturday, after resting Luke Guttridge, Ben Harding and Chris Hackett in the week.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd has got Northampton firing in the league and only second placed Port Vale have managed to score more goals than the Cobblers this season.

Opponents Plymouth are in danger of exiting the Football League after their loss at home to Oxford last weekend and the Pilgrim’s lack of cutting edge up front continues to plague John Sheridan’s side.

Plymouth have one of the worst away records in League Two and the Devon based club have lost seven of their 15 games on the road this season.

Northampton have a strong record at Sixfields and the Cobblers should be far too strong for the lowly league opponents on Saturday.

Northampton to win @1.90

Manchester City (1.95) v Chelsea (4.20); Draw (3.70)

Manchester City’s surprise defeat against Southampton two weeks ago left the Premier League champions 12 points behind their city rivals and manager Roberto Mancini will be fully expecting his side to bounce back on Sunday.

Opponents Chelsea will have to contend with Manchester City’s imperious record at the Etihad Stadium, where the Citizens are undefeated in 37 of their last 38 matches at home in the league.

The Blues themselves have been increasingly inconsistent in recent weeks and only an injury time goal by Eden Hazard spared Chelsea from going into extra time in the Europa League on Thursday.

Manchester City have won their last three matches at home against Chelsea in all competitions and the Citizens will need to make their home advantage count if they are to have any hopes of challenging Manchester United.
