Weekend Football Tips – 16-17 February

Our football tips for the weekend come from the English Football League, where Crystal Palace entertain Middlesbrough at Selhurst Park.

Weekend Football Predictions

Crystal Palace (1.95) v Middlesbrough (4.33); Draw (3.50)

Goals from Peter Ramage and Kevin Phillips rescued a point for Crystal Palace last weekend, leaving the Eagles firmly in the hunt for promotion.

Crystal Palace’s form at Selhurst Park could be crucial for their end-of-season run-in and the Eagles are undefeated in their last 14 home matches in the Championship.

The over-reliance on striker Glenn Murray is still an issue, but Kevin Phillips, Wilfried Zaha and Andre Moritz are all available for Crystal Palace who have scored two or more goals in 10 of their last 12 games at home in the Championship.

Opponents Middlesbrough are bottom of the Championship form table after losing six of their last seven games in the league, but Tony Mowbray’s side could be boosted by the return of Jonathan Woodgate and Scott McDonald from injury.

Boro have lost six of their last seven away games in the Championship and Middlesbrough’s disparity in points accumulated between home and away matches is the biggest in the league.

Crystal Palace’s performance against Watford last weekend pointed to signs of resurgence for manager Ian Holloway and the Eagles could claim all three points on Saturday against poor travellers Middlesbrough.
