Premier League Fantasy Football Tips. Gameweek 17

With Man.U, Arsenal and Chelsea taking each other on in the next few weeks, we turn our attention to some other teams and recently I’ve neglected to put forward any defensive tips but I aim to put that right for this gameweek:

Kyrgiakos (5.1m) – Liverpool seemed to have turned the corner and reversed their poor form, most recently picking up a strong 3-0 performance on Monday night against Villa. With Carragher out for the next three months, Kyrgiakos should be a regular starter and with his attacking talent for set pieces, he is a bargain at 5.1m. Liverpool’s next five fixtures are very favourable and include NEW(a), FUL(h), BLP(a), WOL(h), BOL(h).

Maxi Rodriguez (6.7m) – For similar reasons as above, Maxi Rodriguez is a tempting choice. Scoring two goals in his last three games including a top finish against Villa, he seems to be finally settled and hitting some form. With only being selected by 1.3% of fantasy owners, he provides an attractive differential at a cheap price.

Kolo Toure (6.3m) – Mancini has been criticised for setting up his team too defensively, but it’s hard to argue with the statistics as Man City have conceded the second least amount of goals in the league so far, which in its own right is very impressive. Toure is one of the reasons why City have been so strong and should definitely be considered if you are looking for a new defender.

M G Pedersen (5.8m) – One of the in form players at the moment, having scored 4 goals in his last 5 appearances, Pedersen is a cracking option at 5.8m. In addition to his ability to find the back of the net, Pedersen is normally in control for all set pieces increasing the possibility for assists. Blackburn have some decent fixtures coming up which include BOL(a), WEST HAM(h), STO(h) and WEST BROM(a).
