Premier League Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 8

Gameweek 8 Fantasy Player Picks

GW8 (from): Hart, Al-Habsi, Lescott, Olsson, Bosingwa, Walker, Gibbs, Sinclair, Lampard, Ramsey, Mata, Silva, Van Persie, Aguero, Sturridge

Captain Choices

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Arsenal might be having problems defensively, but going forward they are still a dangerous outfit and Robin Van Persie is Arsene Wenger’s star turn. Van Persie picked up a brace and 3 bonus points in the Gunners last home game against Bolton and Arsenal will be desperate to pick up 3 points and begin their climb up the Premier League table.

Other Contenders: Aaron Ramsey, Gervinho

Frank Lampard (CHE)

Frank Lampard’s hat-trick in Gameweek 7 against Bolton answered a lot of critic’s suggestions that the England midfielder was “past it”. Lampard is traditionally one of the highest scoring midfielders in fantasy football and has finished with over 200 points three times in the last five seasons. Lampard always seems to be a strong choice whenever Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge and the visit by Everton should provide Lampard a chance to extend his form.

Other Contenders: Juan Mata, Daniel Sturridge

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

Sergio Aguero picked up an injury in Gameweek 7 against Blackburn but should be fit enough to face Aston Villa at Eastlands. Argentinean forward Aguero tops the form chart and has returned 8 goals so far this campaign. Combined with 2 assists and a record 9 bonus points, Aguero is the most likely candidate to get on the scoresheet against Aston Villa who face their first real test on Saturday.

Other Contenders: David Silva, Samir Nasri

Transfer Picks

Aaron Ramsey (ARS) – 6.3m

Welsh midfielder Ramsey has yet to miss a minute of football for Arsenal this season, putting last season’s injury well and truly behind him. Ramsey has picked up 2 assists, a goal and a bonus point in his last 3 games amassing 22 fantasy points and provides a good differential for fantasy managers looking at value options in the middle of the park.

Kyle Walker (TOT) – 5.4m

Walker has now started Tottenham’s last 4 games in the Premier League and the young England right back looks set to make the right back position his own this season. Walker also provides an attacking option going forward and should find some success against Newcastle on Sunday.

Scott Sinclair (SWA) – 5.9m

The ex-Chelsea attacker has finally come to life with 2 goals and 3 bonus points in his last 3 games. Sinclair of course is Swansea’s penalty taker and is also more than capable from direct free kicks. A trip to Carrow Road may give the English forward the opportunity to further extend his goal tally for the newly promoted Welsh side. Sinclair has yet to miss a minute of action for Swansea this term.
