Captain Choices

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Rooney’s winner against Fulham on Monday night took the England striker’s tally to 21 goals for the season, to make it eight goals in seven appearances. Manchester United enjoy the best away record in the Premier League with 11 wins from 15 games and Rooney has scored nine goals on his travels. Opponents Blackburn Rovers have conceded 27 goals at Ewood Park this season and Rooney again looks a strong choice for the captain’s armband this weekend.

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Van Persie failed to score for the second Premiership match in a row, but the Dutch forward tops the Premier League goalscoring charts with 26 goals. Arsenal are one of the form sides going into Gameweek 31 and face QPR at Loftus Road. QPR have not kept a clean sheet for  21 games, a run going back to the 21st October against the nine men of Chelsea. Van Persie scored and collected three bonus points against QPR in Gameweek 19 and the Dutch master should get back to his scoring ways on Saturday.

Fantasy Football Transfers

Theo Walcott (ARS) – £9.2m

No other player is in better form than England midfielder Theo Walcott. The Arsenal attacker picked up a goal and three bonus points against Aston Villa in Gameweek 30. Walcott has been impressive in recent weeks and picked up 10 bonus points in his last five games for the Gunners and Walcott should continue his run of form going into Gameweek 31 against relegation threatened QPR.

Papiss Cisse (NEW) – £6.8m

Newcastle’s January signing has already returned five goals for the Magpies. Cisse’s brace last time out against West Brom made it three goals in two games and the Senegalese striker has now picked up three bonus points in each of the last two gameweeks. Opponents in Gameweek 31 are Liverpool, who have conceded five goals in their last two Premier League games.
