Captain Choices
Sergio Aguero (MCI)
Sergio Aguero’s strike last time out against Blackburn made it two goals in three games meaning Aguero’s tally is now up to 16 for the season. At the Etihad Stadium, Aguero has scored 12 goals and this gameweek Manchester City host Premiership strugglers Bolton Wanderers who have conceded 27 goals away from the Reebok Stadium including eight goals in the last three away games. With the Argentine forward also getting on the scoresheet in the Europa League, Aguero and Manchester City look set to further increase their dominance at Eastlands.
David Silva picked up an assist during Gameweek 26 and also scored and collected three bonus points when these two sides met in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Juan Mata (CHE)
Chelsea’s Spanish midfielder picked up an assist during Gameweek 26 to take his contribution up to nine assists in the Premier League and Mata has now made two goals in his last three appearances for the Blues. Opponents in Gameweek 27 are West Brom and with Essien back in the side, the likes of Mata and Lampard in particular will be given more license and freedom going forward. Mata has been an ever present for Andre Villas-Boas’ side featuring in every game so far this season.
Fantasy Transfers
Aleksander Kolarov (MCI) – £6.1m
Manchester City’s Serbian left back highlighted his fantasy potential during Gameweek 26 with two assists against Blackburn Rovers. Kolarov has featured for the full 90 minutes in each of the Citizen’s last three games, where Manchester City have kept clean sheets. Priced at £6.1m, Kolarov is cheaper than his City teammates and should keep his place in the side, with the Serbian coming up against Bolton and Swansea in the next two gameweeks.
Pavel Pogrebnyak (FUL) – £6.0m
Fulham’s new Russian striker already looks at home in the Premier League with goals in every appearance for the Cottagers so far. Pogrebnyak’s two goals could increase this weekend with the visit of Wolves to Craven Cottage who have conceded 23 goals away from home. Fulham also play Aston Villa and Swansea in Gameweek 28 and Gameweek 29.
