La Liga Football Tips – 16-17 October

La Liga giants Real Madrid will be looking to put their stuttering start to the season behind them, with lowly Levante the visitors to the Bernabeu.

Elsewhere Atletico Madrid will be looking to pick up their first win in four games with a trip to Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid will be looking to extend their unbeaten record to 21 games in La Liga, as los Merengues look

Question marks have already been raised against new manager Rafa Benitez and the manager’s team selection and tactics were apparent after the 1-1 draw in the Madrid derby, which continues to affect the La Liga betting.

Real Madrid have failed to flatten their La Liga opponents as has been the case in recent years, with stalemates against Sporting Gijon and Malaga real blemishes on the clubs record.

Attacking options Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez have both picked up injuries, whilst the absence of playmaker Luka Modric in the middle of the park may be most keenly felt.

Opponents Levante have failed to score in five of their last seven matches in the league and the side from Valencia may well struggle to hit the target again this weekend.

Real Sociedad (4.00) v Atletico Madrid (2.05); Draw (3.20)

Atletico Madrid will be looking to win their first game in four La Liga matches, as Diego Simeone’s side take on Real Sociedad at Anoeta.

The visitor’s summer signings have yet to find their feet within Simeone’s set-up, but one player who continues to shine is midfielder Antoine Griezmann, who makes his return to Anoeta having previous played for the hosts.

The Mattress Makers have won seven of their last 10 encounters against La Real and the odds of another victory look appealing in the outright winner market.

Attacker Luciano Vietto is missing for the hosts so el Nino Fernando Torres will lead the line for the visitors.

Hosts Real Sociedad fell to a 3-1 defeat by Malaga before the international break, with sloppy defensive errors and poor finishing continuing to plague the side.

Time appears to be running out for David Moyes who has averaged just 1.26 points per game in his 34 matches in charge of La Real.

Atletico Madrid have won four of their last five most recent visits to Anoeta and the price of an away win on Sunday looks too appealing not to back given the hosts continued shortcomings this season.
