Back the Gunners to be Top at Christmas

Just five games remain between now and Christmas and given Arsenal’s fixture run, the Gunners look an assured football tip to finish top of the tree this Christmas.

Premier League Football Tips

Current Premier League leaders Manchester City remain favourites at 2.10 to be top at Christmas, but it’s the Gunners who arguably have the easier fixture run.

Arsene Wenger’s side face West Brom and Norwich away from home, before a home tie against Sunderland and a trip to Villa Park, with a crunch clash against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium likely to decide who will be top at Christmas.

The north London side are yet to be at their best, but the form of Theo Walcott in the striking position has been somewhat of a positive for the Gunners, despite the side doubling down and splitting with Olivier Giroud at times.

Arsenal’s player of the year Alexis Sanchez has yet to find the impact of last season after a long campaign for club and country, whilst the returning Aaron Ramsey is beginning to show signs of resurgence.

Dutching on both Arsenal (2.62) and Manchester City (2.10) in the betting market will provide profit of up to 0.62 points as long as one of the two sides finish top at Christmas and this bet will likely to find attraction for those backers who persist with a long-term strategy.

Outsiders Manchester United (6.00) are still finding it a struggle to score goals, despite finding the back of the net twice, but the Red Devils fixture run should allow Louis van Gaal’s side to close the gap right down on league leaders Manchester City.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side face a testing two games against Liverpool and Southampton straight after the international break, but the Citizens should be by that point close to be welcoming back talisman Sergio Aguero.

Manchester City’s summer recruits of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling have bedded in well and the club will fancy their chances of lifting the title over the course of the season given they possess the strongest assembled squad in the whole division.

Arsenal’s traditional early season form looks likely to leave the Gunners top at Christmas, but a lack of recruitment in January could ultimately see Arsene Wenger’s side fall away from the title race yet again this term.
