Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 8

West Ham’s Winston Reid was the highest point scorer in Gameweek 7, netting in a surprise 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane.

Elsewhere Loic Remy scored for the third game in a row as Newcastle defeated Cardiff and Steven Gerrard put in a captain’s performance as Liverpool continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace.

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 8, as Newcastle host Liverpool.

Captain Choices

Romelu Lukaku (EVE)

Romelu Lukaku’s opening strike against Manchester City two weeks ago was not enough to see Everton on their way, as the Citizens emerged victorious at the Etihad Stadium.

The on-loan Chelsea striker has now scored four goals in his opening three appearances for Everton in the Premier League; form which the Belgium international has continued from last season, after hitting 17 goals for West Bromwich Albion.

Opponents Hull have conceded two or more goals in all three of their away matches this season and after scoring two goals for Belgium on Friday, Everton’s in-form striker looks set to retain his goalscoring touch for his new club.

Luis Suarez (LIV)

Three goals in two games has been the form of Luis Suarez since his return from suspension, as the controversial striker bids to maintain his club’s strong start to the season.

Suarez bagged 22 goals for the Reds last term; a tally that seems at least matchable this time around, given the growing partnership with English striker Daniel Sturridge.

Opponents Newcastle have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last four games in the Premier League and Liverpool’s newly-returned star looks likely to add to his recent tally in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Transfer Tips

Yaya Toure (MCI) – £9.5m

Manchester City’s joint-top scorer turned provider for the first time this season, laying on a pass for Alvaro Negredo to score in the Citizen’s 3-1 win over Everton.

Highlighted in last week’s fantasy football tips, Yaya Toure continues to attract investment with the Ivory Coast international proving a permanent fixture in Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield alongside Brazilian Fernandinho in the centre of Manchester City’s midfield four.

Opponents West Ham have conceded four goals in their last two games at Upton Park and Manchester City’s dominant midfielder could prove to be the driving force for the Citizens once again.

Aaron Ramsey (ARS) – £6.7m

Aaron Ramsey’s late equaliser against Belgium on Tuesday offered plenty of encouragement for Arsenal fan’s that the player’s hot streak is far from over.

Only Hull City’s Robbie Brady has proved better value than Ramsey over the course of the Premier League this season, with the Wales international having been transferred in by more than one million managers over the last four gameweeks.

Opponents Norwich have kept just two clean sheets in the Premier League all season and Giroud’s growing lack of form in front of goal could see Ramsey continuing to fill the void for the Gunners this weekend.

Daniel Sturridge (LIV) – £9.9m

Daniel Sturridge’s goal against Crystal Palace two weeks ago left the Liverpool striker as the top scorer in the Premier League, as the former Chelsea striker continues to find his feet at Anfield.

Liverpool’s home defeat to Southampton in September remains the only game that the England international has not scored in the Premier League and with a goal against Montenegro on Friday, Sturridge will go into Saturday’s match full of confidence.

Sturridge was responsible for two of Liverpool’s six goals against Newcastle in the same fixture last season and the in-form striker looks set to further enhance his reputation this weekend.
