Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 9

Sportingly Better picks out the best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 9, as Jose Mourinho takes on former side Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Captain Choices

Alexis Sanchez (ARS)

Alexis Sanchez produced a classy lob during Arsenal’s rout against Ludogorets in the Champions League during the week, with the Chile international subsequently being withdrawn with the weekend’s match in mind.

The Gunners face Middlesbrough at home and on paper Arsene Wenger’s side look full of confidence and form to secure a comfortable win.

Sanchez has produced three 10-point hauls in the last six matches and after picking up an assist against Swansea last time out, Sanchez looks poised to rack up the points again this weekend.

Sergio Aguero (MCI)

A demoralising defeat away at the Nou Camp against Pep Guardiola’s former side is the backdrop for the Citizens going into the match, but star striker Sergio Aguero has in fact scored in just one Premier League game since Gameweek 2, with the striker’s last Premier League strikes since August coming in a 3-1 victory away at Swansea.

Aguero has been well rested over the Citizens last two fixtures and a home tie against Southampton in the comfort of the Etihad Stadium should see Aguero and Manchester City firing once again.

Transfer Tips

Nathaniel Clyne (LIV) – £5.5m

An uninspiring goalless draw against rivals Manchester United may have not been the match that had been billed, but the game produced Liverpool’s first shut-out of the season.

Right-back Clyne is no stranger to bonus points for the Reds after picking up the maximum of three points last time out and with a favourable run of fixtures starting with a home match against West Brom, expect Jurgen Klopp’s side to keep it more tidy at the back.

Theo Walcott (ARS) – £7.9m

Tipped in last week’s Premier League fantasy football tips, England international Theo Walcott followed up his brace against Swansea with a curling shot in a 6-0 demolition of Ludogorets on Tuesday.

Alongside Chelsea’s Diego Costa, no fantasy player has amassed more points so far this season than Theo Walcott and with Gameweek 9 opponents Middlesbrough having kept just one clean sheet in their last 19 top-flight away matches, expect Walcott’s rich vein of goalscoring form to continue.

ON THE WATCHLIST

  • Seamus Coleman (EVE)  – £5.5m
  • Romelu Lukaku (EVE) – £9.5m
