Fantasy Football Tips – Gameweek 8
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez bagged a hat-trick as the Gunners beat early high-flyers Leicester 5-2, whilst Tottenham’s Erik Lamela scored one and made one as Spurs defeated Manchester City 4-1 at White Hart Lane.
Guest blogger Ashil Parekh picks out his best fantasy football tips for Gameweek 8, as Arsenal host Manchester United.
Captain Choices
Sergio Aguero (MCI)
A penalty from Sergio Aguero helped Manchester City to a 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The victory in Europe will have givene Manuel Pellegrini’s star forward a much needed confidence boost and despite only scoring once so far in the Premier League, Aguero’s underlying stats hold up quite well; with the forward having registered his fair share of shots on target and chances created.
The corresponding fixture last season saw the hosts go 3-0 up within 21 minutes and despite not scoring in the Premiership since the 16th August in a 3-0 win over Chelsea, Aguero looks set to finally be amongst the goals.
Dimitri Payet (WHU)
The Hammers breakout player has been involved in 40% of all of West Ham’s goals so far this season and a trip to the Stadium of Light this weekend, will hold little fear for Dimitri Payet and co.
Sunderland have the worst defensive record in the league and the club’s fortunes are unlikely to be improve with one of the division’s best travelling sides.
Payet has produced returns of three goals, three assists and eight bonus points and given the poor level of quality in the opposition ranks, expect the highly-rated Frence midfielder to again show his worth in the Premier League this weekend.
Transfer Tips
Romelu Lukaku (EVE) – £5.4m
Romelu Lukaku ran riot against West Brom on Monday night scoring two and assisting one.
The Belgium international will be fully geared up for the Merseyside derby on Sunday against Liverpool, who look anything but solid at the back.
Lukaku was ruthless against West Brom and if he continues to play that way he will be unstoppable. With Ross Barkley, Steve Naismith, Kone and Deulofeu creating a lot of chances, the big centre forward looks set to be in-line for a bumper month in October, especially given Everton’s upcoming fixtures.
Kevin de Bruyne (MCI) – £10.2m
Kevin De Bruyne’s excellent form in 2015, shows no signs of stopping, with two goals in as many appearances in the English top flight.
The Belgium international proved to be a creative force for former club Wolfsburg with 20 league assists last season, but the former Chelsea player is also capable of scoring goals, especially when fielded in a more central void.
De Bruyne’s form has been relentless and the recently returned Premier League import should enjoy himself still further against Newcastle United this weekend.
