Fantasy Football Premier League Tips Gameweek 30
Captain Choices
Wayne Rooney
Manchester United’s England forward Wayne Rooney seems to have finally sparked into life this season coming into the business end of the campaign. Rooney has scored 5 goals in Manchester United’s last 6 games, collecting 2 assists and 8 bonus points along the way. This gameweek Manchester United play Bolton Wanderers and Rooney picked up an assist in the reverse fixture in September.
Despite Nani’s injuries and niggles, the Portuguese winger is an increasingly key player and has contributed goals and assists to Sir Alex Ferguson’s cause all season. Nani has scored 2 goals and made 3 assists in his last 5 games and collected a haul of 1 goal, 1 assist and 2 bonus points in the reverse against Bolton.
Robin Van Persie
With Arsenal only gunning on one front this season, a backlash could be expected. Van Persie is still Arsenal’s main man and might well fancy his chances against West Brom’s backline. Van Persie has already notched 10 goals so far this term and the flying Dutchman will look to add to that tally.
Frank Lampard
One of the most in-form players in the Premier League; it is hardly surprising that Chelsea’s quiet resurgence has coincided with the return of Frank Lampard. Lampard has scored 3 goals in his last 2 games including an assist and 5 bonus points. Chelsea have a tricky tie however against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Transfer Options
David Luiz – 6.1m
Chelsea’s new Brazilian centre half is a commanding figure at the back. Being cup-tied in the Champions League, Luiz is likely to play a part in all of Chelsea’s remaining Premier League games. After the Manchester City fixture this gameweek, Chelsea and Luiz have a relatively easy run in until the end of April.
Ashley Young – 8.4m
Despite the penalty miss last time out against Bolton, Ashley Young is in decent form and relishing his new role further forward under Gerard Houllier. Ashley Young has 2 goals, 1 assist and 3 bonus points in his last 2 games and has a favourable fixture this week as Aston Villa are at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Luis Suarez – 9.1m
At 9.1m, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is valued at an attractive price for most fantasy managers. The Uruguayan striker may have only scored 1 Premier League goal for Kenny Dalglish, but Suarez showed against Manchester United that he is more than capable of unlocking the top defences. Liverpool this week are away at the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
