Gameweek 37 Fantasy Football Tips

Captain Choices

Wayne Rooney (MUN)

Wayne Rooney remains two goals short of Robin Van Persie in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. The Manchester United forward comes up against Swansea at Old Trafford this weekend and Rooney has scored 17 of his 26 goals at home including ten in the last six. Rooney’s contribution produced nine bonus points in April and the return to Old Trafford should provide further encouragement with opponents Swansea having conceded seven goals in the last three away games.

Robin Van Persie (ARS)

Van Persie found himself back on the scoresheet in Gameweek 36 in the 1-1 draw away at Stoke. The Dutch forward remains the Premier League’s top marksman with 28 goals and Van Persie will again be the man the Gunners look to with Arsenal seeking Champions League qualification. Van Persie has not scored in four games at the Emirates Stadium but did pick up a brace against opponents Norwich along with three bonus points back in the reverse fixture in November.

Nikica Jelavic (EVE)

Everton’s January signing added a further two goals during the last gameweek to take his tally to eight goals in the Premier League. The form of Pienaar, Fellaini and Osman has improved the service to Jelavic who has scored five of his eight goals away from Goodison Park. The Croatian striker looks set to benefit from a trip to Molineux against already relegated Wolves who have conceded 32 goals in the last 11 home games.

Fantasy Football Transfers

Steven Pienaar (EVE) – £7.2m

Tipped during last week’s fantasy football transfers, South African midfielder Steven Pienaar reinforced his status as the top in-form midfielder in the Premier League after picking up three assists against Fulham during Gameweek 36. Pienaar has been in creative form recently with six assists in as many gameweeks and the on-loan midfielder has also added two goals for David Moyes’ side. The trip to Wolves on paper looks positive for Everton, who traditionally finish the season strongly.
