Fantasy Football Premier League Tips Gameweek 33

Chelsea, Birmingham and Arsenal all play twice, whilst Man City, Bolton, Fulham, Wolves and Stoke do not play at all in Gameweek 33.

Captain Choices

David Luiz
It is unusual to put forward claims for a defender to be captain for any fantasy manager, but the Brazilian is the form defender in the Premier League. Luiz and Chelsea enjoy a double gameweek with matches away at the Hawthorns against West Brom and at home to Birmingham. Luiz has scored 2 goals, picked up 9 bonus points and kept 2 clean sheets in his last 5 games.

With Carlo Ancelotti seemingly not favouring Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda should perhaps be thought of as an attacking captain choice. Chelsea ran riot on the opening day of the season with a 6-0 demolition of West Brom and the Frenchman bagged himself a brace and two bonus points that day. Frank Lampard also played and picked up a goal in a little over an hour he played. Both midfielders can expect to play a full part of both games and on paper Chelsea’s gameweek is one fantasy managers should be looking to take advantage of.

Robin Van Persie
Another team with a double gameweek is Arsenal. The Gunners have two incredibly difficult fixtures to navigate; at home to Liverpool and away at White Hart Lane against arch rivals Tottenham. Van Persie is the pinnacle and focal point of Arsene Wenger’s attack and the Dutchman has the quality to test and penetrate both defences. Van Persie is in good form at present scoring twice, picking up an assist and 6 bonus points in 3 games.

Transfer Options

Antonio Valencia – 7.8m
Recently back from injury the Ecuadorian winger has made noticeable contributions to Sir Alex Ferguson’s cause; even filling in at right back! Valencia has played in Manchester United’s last 3 games and has scored, made an assist and has been awarded 5 bonus points in those games. Manchester United are away to Newcastle in Gameweek 33.

Leon Osman – 5.6m
Everton’s experienced midfielder is enjoying a run in the side after missing most of November’s and December’s action. Osman has scored twice, made a further 2 goals and collected 5 bonus points in his last 5 games. Osman is expected to take to the field for the home game against Blackburn Rovers.
