FA Cup Final Betting Tips 2011

Saturday 14th May 2011, Wembley Stadium, KO: 15:00
Manchester City v Stoke City

Match Odds:
Manchester City 1.90
Draw 3.60
Stoke 4.00

Due to the UEFA Champions League Final being staged at Wembley this year, this season’s FA Cup Competition has been brought forward, much to the dismay of both clubs, especially Stoke City. But that won’t distract the Potters from the occasion of appearing in their first ever FA Cup final and the prize of cup glory.

Team news and Manchester City are without Kolo Toure and Jerome Boateng as well as the well publicised injury doubt of talisman Carlos Tevez. Stoke City have injuries to Etherington, Huth, Fuller, Sidibe and Higginbotham to contend with and it’s crucial for Tony Pulis that both Etherington and Huth make the team sheet come 3 o’clock.

Both sides go into the final in good form and preparation. Manchester City have secured UEFA Champions League qualification for next term and have won 3 out of the last 4 games. The three wins were all by just a one goal as Roberto Mancini has clearly missed the inspiration of the Argentine Tevez. Stoke have lost only one of their last 9 in all competitions and have of course hit five past Bolton in the FA Cup semi-final as well as beating Arsenal 3-1 at the Britannia Stadium last time out.

As with any cup final, caution is advised for betters. That being said the final is unlikely to be a classic, with it meaning a lot to both sides and a cautious approach for both sides is likely to be seen. Goals aren’t really expected given the tactical set up of both managers and the emphasis, possibly even over emphasis on defence.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals (Manchester City v Stoke City) @1.66
Value Bet: Half Time Correct Score (0-0) @2.62
Long Shot: Robert Huth to score anytime @11.0
