European Football Tips For The Weekend 30th April & 1st May

Fifth meets sixth in the French Lique 1 as Rennes welcome Bordeaux to the Route de Lorient. Bordeaux are currently on a five match unbeaten run and secured an encouraging win last time out against St Etienne. On the road and Bordeaux have only lost four times all season and are currently on a four match unbeaten run. Former Fulham manager Jean Tigana is now at the helm as Bordeaux bid to secure Europa League qualification in sixth place for next season.

Opponents Rennes are in poor form and are winless in six games. Rennes have scored just 3 goals in their last 7 games and goals are a real issue for Frederic Antonetti’s side. With Bordeaux chasing Europa League qualification and Rennes in a slump, Bordeaux should come away with the positive result they need.

Bordeaux 0, +0.5 AH (Asian Handicap) @1.90

Hannover are flying high in the Bundesliga and currently occupy the third Champions League qualification spot. But Hannover are only a point behind Bayern Munich and Mirko Slomka’s side needs to be careful not to let any advantage slip to champions Bayern Munich.

Hannover have been formidable at the AWD-Arena all season winning 11 of 15 matches so far including the last five. Opponents Borussia Monchengladbach are at the wrong end of the table and are in deep trouble, but did manage to secure a vital win over current league leaders Borussia Dortmund. But it is away from the Borussia Park that Die Fohlen have struggled with recently and have not won in 5 games on the road. Hannover won the reverse 2-1  in December and a superior home form should see Hannover pick up a vital 3 points and consign Borussia Monchengladbach to a likely relegation.

Hannover 96 to win @1.80
