Champions League Betting Tips – 26-27 November

Napoli’s victory over Marseille three weeks ago saw us make a decent return from our Champions League predictions, as a brace from Gonzalo Higuain helped Rafael Benitez’s side secure all three points.

Sportingly Better picks out the best UEFA Champions League predictions and free football betting tips this week, as Ajax host Barcelona.

Champions League Betting Tips

Ajax (6.50) v Barcelona (1.57); Draw (4.33)

La Liga leaders Barcelona take on Dutch champions Ajax on Tuesday, with the Spanish side looking to wrap up qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.

Barcelona have scored 11 goals in their last three matches in all competitions, but the absence of talisman Lionel Messi is likely to continue to grab attention.

Gerardo Martino will have to do without a host of names on Tuesday with Dani Alves, Jordi Alba, Adriano and Victor Valdes all on the sidelines, whilst in-form striker Alexis Sanchez misses out through suspension.

Hosts Ajax have won four of their last five matches in all competitions and victory over Barcelona would revitalise the home sides pursuit of a second-placed finish.

Frank de Boer’s side need to avoid defeat to maintain any hope of qualifying, but doubts surrounding attackers Siem de Jong and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson is a negative against the Eredivise challengers.

Barcelona won the reverse fixture 4-0 back in September and although the Catalan’s are besieged with injuries, Gerardo Martino’s side should pick up all three points and qualify as group winners on Tuesday.

Manchester City (1.16) v Viktoria Plzen (21.00); Draw (8.50)

Free-scoring Manchester City welcome Czech Republic champions Viktoria Plzen to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, with Manuel Pellegrini expected to make a number of changes to his side having already secured qualification.

Manchester City fired six goals past Tottenham in the league last weekend taking their tally up to 37 goals at the Etihad Stadium in all competitions this season and the Citizens goal difference will need to be improved further, if the Premier League side are going to overthrow leaders Bayern Munich in Group D.

Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko is likely to start, with Micah Richards, Javi Garcia, James Milner and Martin Demichelis all expected to receive some game time.

Opponents Viktoria Plzen secured a 3-1 win over Brno in the Gambrinus League last weekend, but four defeats from four games in the Champions League has virtually consigned the visitors to elimination from Europe.

Manchester City won the reverse fixture 3-0 back in September and although the Premier League side are expected to make a number of changes on Wednesday, the Citizens should possess more than enough quality to power their way to victory.
