Weekend Football Tips – 15-16 September
Bayern Munich top the Bundesliga after two games following their 6-1 victory over Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena two weeks ago, whilst Marseille’s 3-1 victory over Rennes made it four wins out of four for Elie Baup, who are now six points clear of PSG.
It’s two wins out of two for Juventus, Napoli, Lazio and Sampdoria in Italy, whilst Barcelona’s slender 1-0 win over Valencia made it three wins out of three to maintain Tito Vilanova’s 100% record in La Liga with Real Madrid now five points adrift of the Catalans.
Sportingly Better analyses the weekend’s action including a good value away win in Germany.
Weekend’s Betting Tips
Schalke brushed aside Augsburg 3-1 two weeks ago with Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar predictably on the score sheet. Attack minded coach Huub Stevens added further to the squad over the summer with Barcelona’s Ibrahim Affelay joining the club on loan and Swiss midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta astutely snapped up on a free transfer.
Die Konigsblauen fired their way to Champions League qualification last season scoring 74 goals and the five goals scored already suggests they will push that tally close again. Schalke won seven games away from home last season and the visit to newly promoted Greuther Furth should provide the opportunity for a further three points.
Greuther Furth picked up their first ever Bundesliga victory two weeks ago with a 1-0 win over Mainz. Mike Busken’s side were arguably fortunate to pick up that victory and defeat to OFC Kickers in the German Cup will hardly inspire confidence for the Kleeblatter.
Expect the difference in class to show on Saturday with Huntelaar continuing his goalscoring form for the Royal Blues.
