Weekend Football Predictions – 5-6 May
Sixth meets fourth in La Liga as Malaga travel to the Vicente Calderon.
Visitors Malaga are already guaranteed European football, but Los Boquerones will be looking to secure Champions League football for the 2012/2013 competition.
Malaga have not kept a clean sheet in 12 away games but Manuel Pellegrini’s side have scored in their last six games on the road thanks largely to Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla. Malaga’s indifferent form is concerning although the remaining fixture of Sporting Gijon at La Rosaleda is favourable.
Atletico Madrid are unbeaten in four games going into the weekend. Diego Simeone’s side have a strong record in Madrid and have scored in each of the last seven home games. Atletico have an outside chance of securing Champions League football, but must win against Malaga tonight.
Despite the distraction of a Europa League final for Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, both teams should continue to find the net on Saturday.
