Tottenham v Manchester City – Betting Preview

Sportingly Better picks out the best Premiership predictions today, as Tottenham host Manchester City.

Premier League Betting Preview

Tottenham (4.00) v Manchester City (1.95); Draw (3.80)

Manchester City continued their free-scoring exploits at the Etihad Stadium this season, with a 4-2 victory over Cardiff last time out in the Premier League.

The Citizens have won each of their last seven matches in the Premier League, but the return of Spanish duo Alvaro Negredo and David Silva could be crucial for Manuel Pellegrini’s side tonight.

Manchester City thrashed Tottenham 6-0 in their last encounter and although Spurs have bounced back well under the guidance of Tim Sherwood, the Lilywhites have rarely been tested, with an FA Cup tie with Arsenal the only significant encounter to date.

The Citizens problems on the road have been much improved recently with 13 points collected from a possible 15, but Manuel Pellegrini still has to take his title challengers away to Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton before the end of the season.

Opponents Tottenham won their fourth game in the row, as goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and a Chico own goal secured Spurs 3-1 win in south Wales.

Tim Sherwood is still without wide men Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela, whilst the game tonight may come too soon for Sandro, Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen.

Tottenham’s best form of attack may be on the break, with Spurs likely to target the increasingly error-prone Martin Demichelis, with the Citizens having conceded twice against both Cardiff and Watford over the last 11 days.

Manchester City could move top of the Premier League table with a win at White Hart Lane tonight and after winning five of their last six matches against Tottenham in all competitions, the Citizens should have the greater impetus to go out and win in London today.
