Premiership Predictions – 9-11 April

Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United side are just three points behind Tottenham in the league, who occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot.

The Magpies secured all three points in Wales on Friday night, after a Papiss Cisse brace helped Newcastle extend their winning run to four games in the league. Cisse has now scored seven goals in his last four appearances including three consecutive braces and the Senegalese striker is combining well with compatriot Demba Ba, along with French midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

Newcastle have lost just twice at the Sports Direct Arena this season, winning 9 games and the visit of Bolton Wanderers should not cause the Toon Army too much concern. Bolton have lost ten of 15 games away from the Reebok Stadium and were comfortably defeated 3-0 by Fulham at home on Saturday.

Bolton have only managed just one clean sheet on the road all season and the attacking trio in Newcastle’s front lines should cause the Trotters problems on Easter Monday.

With five points separating four sides in the race for the last two Champions League places, Arsenal will be looking to maintain their advantage when they visit Wolves on Wednesday.

Mikel Arteta’s late strike against Manchester City on Sunday made it eight wins in nine games for the Gunners as Arsenal extended their lead over Tottenham to two points. Robin Van Persie is without a goal in four games, but the creativity of Bennayoun and Arteta along with the pace of Theo Walcott can cause real damage.

Opponents Wolves look all but consigned to Championship football next season. Terry Connor’s side have lost six games on the bounce with the Black Country side leaking 19 goals along the way.

Wolves have lost their last seven games at Molineux and with Arsenal chasing a top four finish, the Gunners should ease past Wolves on Wednesday.
