Premiership Predictions 17th-18th December

Manchester City suffered defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out and the Citizens will be looking to bounce back with victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Both teams have concerns in defence especially at full back with Kolarov, Clichy and Micah Richards missing for the hosts, whilst Sagna, Gibbs and Santos remain sidelined for the Gunners.

Manchester City have not kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since the beginning of October and facing Van Persie, Walcott and co is unlikely to improve the chances of a shut out for Roberto Mancini’s side.

This fixture has produced 16 goals in the last 4 meetings and with Arsenal’s last 6 away games producing an average of 5.83 goals and Manchester City scoring two goals or more in every game at the Etihad Stadium this season, goals again look likely.

Chelsea have won 3 on the bounce and the victory over league leaders Manchester City last time out has brought the Blues back into the mix for the Premiership crown.

Andre Villas-Boas’ side have scored 8 goals in the last 3 games, with no fewer than 7 different goalscorers. Opponents Wigan have conceded 2 or more goals in the last 5 games at the DW Stadium and with Chelsea looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the table, Chelsea should at least find the net twice on Saturday.
