Premiership Predictions – 14-16 April

Challengers Manchester City halted a run of three games without a win as the Citizens emphatically beat West Brom at the Etihad Stadium to help keep their hopes of winning the title alive.

Wednesday nights victory was the sixteenth at Eastlands and goals from Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Carlos Tevez added gloss to the win. Manchester City’s away form has been less than impressive but the Citizens have still managed to pick up seven wins on the road.

Opponents Norwich produced a good display last time out against Tottenham and Paul Lambert’s side also held Everton at Carrow Road last weekend. Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have all defeated the Canaries at home this season and Norwich will have their work cut out to stop the Argentine duo of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero who are likely to be paired up front.

With league leaders Manchester United not playing until Sunday, Manchester City should close the gap on their city rivals.

Wolves succumbed to yet another loss on Wednesday night and relegation to the English Football Championship seems a real possibility.

The 3-0 loss to Arsenal was the seventh straight defeat for Terry Connor’s side. Wolves have won just once in 19 Premier League games and the Black Country side have kept only two clean sheets all season with the last shut out being registered on the 27th August; a run of 30 games without a clean sheet.

Sunderland have not won in three matches, but the Black Cats have picked up credible draws against both Manchester City and Tottenham. Sunderland have picked up seven wins at the Stadium of Light this term and a win against Wolves would be enough to propel the Black Cats into the top half of the table. Nicklas Bendtner should also return to the Sunderland attack.

With Wolves in desperate form and leaking goals, Sunderland should take advantage and secure three points on Saturday.
