Premiership Predictions – 14-16 September

After a profitable international break including a winning 4.20 accumulator bet, Sportingly Better returns back to the Premier League; picking out the best value Premiership predictions and football betting tips this weekend, as Everton host Chelsea.

Premiership Predictions

Tottenham (1.45) v Norwich (8.50); Draw (4.50)

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from their north London derby defeat against Arsenal, with Norwich the visitors to White Hart Lane.

Spurs welcome new signings Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen to the club, with both players pressing for a start this weekend. Manager Andre Villas-Boas will have to quickly assemble his new recruits into a meaningful and flexible attack, with Spurs yet to score from open play in the Premier League this season.

The pace and purpose of Aaron Lennon and former player Gareth Bale look increasingly missing for the Lilywhites, with the former still sidelined with injury.

Tottenham have won 10 of their last 14 matches at White Hart Lane in the Premier League and another victory on Saturday could see Spurs maintain their position in the higher echelons of the table.

Tottenham have been drawing at half time and winning at full time in their last three matches at home in the Premier League. Back Draw HT/Tottenham FT at 4.33.

Opponents Norwich secured their first win of the season last time out thanks to a long-range Nathan Redmond strike, but Chris Hughton’s new signings have yet to make their desired impact so far.

The Canaries home form looks yet again fundamental to their league aspirations, with Chris Hughton’s side having won just one of their 10 away matches in the Premier League in 2013.

English striker Gary Hooper could make his debut for the club following his return from injury, but strikers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Johan Elmander are expected to lead the line for the Canaries.

Norwich were undefeated in all three of their encounters with Tottenham last season, but Andre Villas-Boas’ heavily strengthened squad should squeeze out their third win of the season against the Canaries on Saturday.

Tottenham to win @1.45

Everton (3.40) v Chelsea (2.35); Draw (3.30)

Everton’s goalless draw with Cardiff at the beginning of the month was the Toffees third draw on the bounce and the Merseyside club will be hoping that their continued propensity to draw in the Premier League is quickly banished.

On-loan striker Romelu Lukaku remains ineligible to face his parent club, so Roberto Martinez may once again opt for Arouna Kone in leading the line.

Everton have the highest possession figure in the Premier League (64.1%) so far this term, but a lack of cutting edge continues to plagiarise their improving ball retention.

Deadline day arrivals Gareth Barry and James McCarthy provide further options in the middle of the park, but defender Seamus Coleman could miss out after picking up an injury on international duty.

No side has attempted more shots on goal than Everton this season, but Roberto Martinez’s side have yet to score in any of their last two games in the Premier League.

Visitors Chelsea go into Saturday’s match in good form having not lost any of their last 11 matches in the Premier League and the arrival of Samuel Eto’o is likely to significantly bolster Jose Mourinho’s attacking options even further this season.

Chelsea have a virtually fully fit squad for the trip to Goodison Park, so the attacking pairing of Eden Hazard and Oscar could once again sparkle for the Blues, ahead of the holding play of Ramires and Frank Lampard in the double pivot.

The Blues were the only side to beat Everton at home in the Premier League last season and the west London club’s tenacity and endurance under Mourinho is likely to come into play at Goodison Park this weekend.

Chelsea are undefeated in 31 of their last 34 matches against Everton in all competitions and Roberto Martinez’s winless Toffees may continue to come unstuck on Saturday.
