Premiership Betting Tips – 5-6 May

Tottenham made it two wins out of two on Wednesday night as Spurs ran out 4-1 winners at the Reebok Stadium.

Goals from Luka Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart along with a brace from Emmanuel Adebayor increased Tottenham’s goal difference advantage over nearest rivals Newcastle, with both sides locked on 65 points in the league. Spurs have won seven games away from home this season, but the victory over Bolton was the first win in nine away games.

The appointment of Roy Hodgson as England manager will have lifted the uncertainty surrounding Harry Redknapp leaving the club and the former Portsmouth manager will be keen to shift his focus on securing Champions League football for next season, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric desperate to be once again feature in Europe’s elite club competition.

Opponents Aston Villa picked up a valuable point at the Hawthorns last weekend with QPR, Bolton and Blackburn all suffering defeats. Alex McLeish’s side yet again failed to find the back of the net and the Villain’s have scored only three goals in the last six games. The Midlands club are without a win now for eight games.

With Tottenham chasing Champions League qualification, Harry Redknapp’s side should pick up a valuable three points at Villa Park.
