Premiership Betting Tips 26th Feb & 27th Feb

Everton knocked out holders Chelsea in the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on penalties last weekend and a result like this could kick-start the Toffees season with the visit of Steve Bruce’s Sunderland in the Premier League. Sunderland are clearly missing Darren Bent and have lost the last 3 Premiership games on the bounce, with only Asamoah Gyan the only fit and recognised striker. Financial uncertainty is also beginning to surround the Stadium of Light.

Everton have a superb record against the Black Cats.  Everton are unbeaten in the last 12 Premiership meetings and are also unbeaten in their last 8 encounters at Goodison Park. Indeed Sunderland have not picked up an away win against Everton for over 14 years. Losing Saha is of course a blow, but Fellaini, Cahill, Arteta, Beckford and Baines are all capable of goals and Everton should have enough about them against an out of form Sunderland side.

Although not one for the purists, Manchester United and Marseille midweek in the Champions League illustrated a formidable defensive unit that the Premiership league leaders possess, with Smalling again impressing. Manchester United won 2-0 earlier in the season and head to head Manchester United have a 100% record against the Latics winning all 11 previous Premier League encounters.  Sir Alex Ferguson’s side scored 12 goals without reply in their last 3 meetings, so the win to nil market is a consideration, but Wigan have found the back of the net in their last 4 games in the Premiership. With away trips to Stamford Bridge and Anfield, Manchester United will want to take full advantage of their game in hand, particularly with Arsenal playing in the League Cup final and put another 3 points on the board.
