Premiership Betting Tips – 26-27 October

It was two from two in last weekend’s Premier League tips as Tottenham’s win at Villa Park, along with four goals at St James’ Park helped deliver us considerable profit.

Sportingly Better picks out the best value Premiership betting tips and football predictions this weekend, as Aston Villa host Everton.

Premiership Betting Tips

Aston Villa (3.40) v Everton (2.30); Draw (3.40)

Everton go in search of their fourth victory in five games on Saturday, when Roberto Martinez’s side travel to Villa Park.

The arrival of on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku has been the catalyst for much of the Toffees recent upturn in fortunes, with the Merseyside club having fired in nine goals in their last four games in the Premier League.

Midfielder Steven Pienaar could oust Leon Osman or James McCarthy this weekend, after scoring the winner against Hull last time out, whilst deep-lying midfield Gareth Barry is likely to face his former club.

Everton carry a good record against Aston Villa in recent years and are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 matches against the Villains, but the Toffees form away from Goodison Park remains an issue.

Hosts Aston Villa have lost three of their opening four games at home in the Premier League and although the Midlands’ club have faced the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham early on, the Villains seem again likely to struggle at Villa Park this year.

Star striker Christian Benteke should start on Saturday, after coming off the bench to face Tottenham last weekend, whilst Ciaran Clark is likely to replace Nathan Baker at the heart of the Villains defence.

Both teams having scored in 11 of the last 12 meetings between the two sides and with Benteke and Lukaku leading the lines, Saturday’s encounter at Villa Park is likely to offer plenty of goals.

Tottenham (1.40) v Hull (9.50); Draw (4.80)

Tottenham’s 2-0 win at Villa Park last weekend helped Andre Villas-Boas’ side climb up to fifth in the Premier League, as the ambitious London outfit continue to chase Champions League football.

Spurs have won five of their opening eight games in the division, whilst a total of five clean sheets in the Premiership has clearly been an improvement on last season’s return.

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in eight of Tottenham’s last nine games in the Premier League. Back under 2.5 goals at 2.00.

Tottenham’s trip to Moldova on Thursday will be concerning given that Spurs lost to West Ham three days after travelling to Russia in the Europa League only three weeks ago, but goals from Roberto Soldado and Andros Townsend last weekend at least point to some encouragement in attack.

Opponents Hull managed just one shot on target during last weekend’s defeat at Goodison Park and the Tigers’ lack of attacking strength continues to draw scepticism regarding their current league position.

Danny Graham, Robert Koren and Allan McGregor have all been ruled out for the Tigers, whilst midfielder Jake Livermore remains unavailable to face his parent club.

Hull have conceded two goals in every away match in the Premier League this season and despite Tottenham’s Europa League excursion on Thursday, the home side should come away with all three points this weekend.
