Premiership Betting Tips – 21-23 December

Manchester City’s 6-3 hammering of league leaders Arsenal saw us return a 4/1 bet last weekend, whilst Chelsea’s narrow win over Crystal Palace saw us bank an even money tip in the result/goals market.

Sportingly Better picks out the best  Premiership betting tips this weekend, as Fulham host Manchester City.

Premiership Betting Tips

Fulham (9.50) v Manchester City (1.36); Draw (5.25)

A 6-3 victory at the Etihad Stadium last weekend saw Manchester City close the gap on leaders Arsenal to just three points and a win on Saturday could leave the Citizens top of the Premier League at Christmas, depending on other results.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been far from convincing on the road winning just two of their opening eight matches on their travels; form that will need to be addressed if the Citizens are going to challenge for the title.

Top goalscorer Sergio Aguero faces a pro-longed absence on the sidelines, but Edin Dzeko scored twice in midweek and the Bosnian striker will be eager to fill the void of the Argentina international.

Manchester City’s attacking intent shows no sign of slowing down, but defensive injuries and an often cavalier approach has seen Manchester City concede nine goals in their last five games in all competitions.

Hosts Fulham found Goodison Park an unforgiving place after a 4-1 defeat against Everton, but the Cottagers still remain a point off safety.

Defenders Fernando Amorebieta and Brede Hangeland could both miss Saturday’s encounter with the Premier League top scorers, with Fulham having conceded at least two goals in seven out of their last eight matches in the league.

No side have conceded more goals than Fulham this season and new coach Rene Meulensteen will have to quickly address his new side’s failings at the back should the Cottagers claw themselves away from the dropzone.

Fulham have lost seven of their last eight matches in the Premier League, but the London side were worthy winners in their last game at Craven Cottage; a victory that could give the home side some hope.

Six of Fulham’s last seven games and 10 of Manchester City’s last 12 matches in the Premier League have finished with at least three goals and despite the absence of Sergio Aguero, the odds on further goals on Saturday remains just about tempting enough.
