Premiership Betting Tips – 20-21 October

Chelsea maintained their four point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 4-1 victory against Norwich.

Manchester City and Manchester United maintained the pressure on the Blues as both sides picked up 3-0 victories, whilst Tottenham made it four wins on the bounce following a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

At the foot of the table Reading, Norwich and QPR are still without a win in the Premier League and find themselves in the bottom three.

Premier League Predictions

Fulham were denied their second consecutive away win after a late Jose Fonte goal rescued a point for Southampton.

Martin Jol’s side entertain Aston Villa this weekend and the Cottagers have averaged three goals a game at home this term. The likely return of Mladen Petric and Dimitar Berbatov will deliver a timely boost for Fulham, although Bryan Ruiz did pick up a knock whilst on international duty for Costa Rica last weekend. In terms of prolificacy up front, only Barcelona have a betting shooting accuracy than Fulham this season across all five major European leagues.

Opponents Aston Villa hold a good head to head record against Fulham, but the Villains have won just once this season. Villa are yet to pick up a win on their travels and have not tasted victory on the road since a 3-2 win over Wolves in January.

Aston Villa have scored more than one goal only once this season and scoring goals has been a problem for Paul Lambert. Deadline day arrival Christian Benteke did score for Belgium during the international break and a goal on Saturday would be the perfect tonic for the Scottish manager who has off the field issues involving former club Norwich.

Only four teams won at Craven Cottage last season and with Berbatov likely to be declared fit, Fulham should be too strong against poor travellers Aston Villa.

Fulham 0, -0.5 Asian Handicap @1.55
