Sportingly Better picks out the best value Premiership betting tips and football predictions this weekend, as Aston Villa host Tottenham.

Premiership Betting Tips

Aston Villa (4.00) v Tottenham (2.05); Draw (3.50)

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham this weekend, with a trip to Villa Park on Sunday.

Spurs are without a win in any of their last two games in the Premier League, but the form of Gylfi Sigurdsson has offered some encouragement to Spurs going into the match.

Spanish striker Roberto Soldado continues to struggle in front of goal, so Jermain Defoe could be a surprise inclusion on Sunday, after netting a brace during Tottenham’s 4-0 win at Villa Park in the Capital One Cup last month.

Tottenham have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven matches against Aston Villa in all competitions, but the absence of Gareth Bale is still being keenly felt, with wingers Nacer Chadli, Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon yet to score in the Premier League this term.

Opponents Aston Villa are undefeated in their last three matches in the Premier League and the early return of star striker Christian Benteke will be a boost to the Midland’s side.

Manager Paul Lambert often uses the pace of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann on the break; a weapon that has found more favour for Aston Villa counter-attacking on the road than at Villa Park.

Villa have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 14 matches at home, with left back Antonio Luna likely to be targeted by the in-form Andros Townsend.

Tottenham have won six of their last seven matches against Aston Villa in all competitions and the odds of a seventh success look well priced this weekend.

Newcastle (4.50) v Liverpool (1.85); Draw (3.80)

Liverpool will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run on the road this season, when they visit Newcastle in the early game this weekend.

The Reds 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace two weeks ago left Brendan Rodgers’ side level on points with Arsenal and victory at St James Park on Saturday would propel the Merseyside outfit to the top of the Premier League after round eight.

Liverpool have been winning at both half time and full time in six of their last eight matches in the Premier League. Back Liverpool HT/FT at 3.00.

The return from suspension of Luis Suarez has breathed fresh life into the Liverpool attack, with the Uruguay international having scored three goals in his two Premier League outings this term.

Opponents Newcastle picked up a much-needed win against Cardiff last time out, but Alan Pardew’s side have yet to find their stride this season.

The Magpies have however been full of goals of late, with Newcastle having scored at least two goals in each of their last four games in the Premier League. On-loan striker Loic Remy has contributed well, with five goals in his last three appearances.

The last 10 encounters in the Premier League between the two sides have seen an average of 3.6 goals a game and with both sets of strikers in form, expect a flurry of goals on Saturday as Liverpool bid to go top of the table.
