Premiership Betting Tips 17th & 18th September
Bolton have to face Arsenal and Chelsea before the month is over as the Trotters difficult fixture list continues. A home game to newly promoted Norwich is a welcome break for Owen Coyle’s side and provides a real chance for some much needed points on the board.
Despite a number of difficult opponents and injuries, Bolton have still found the net 7 times in their opening 4 games and will look to bounce back from last weekend’s 5-0 defeat by champions Manchester United. Ivan Klasnic is showing signs of what could be a promising campaign and American midfielder Stuart Holden is in line for a return from injury. At the other end goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has looked less than assured so far after conceding 11 goals currently this campaign.
Norwich are probably performing at about expectations so far, but Paul Lambert will be desperate to pick up the Canaries first win of the season. With 11 of Bolton’s last 14 Premier League games going over the 2.5 goals mark, expect Saturday’s encounter to follow suit.
Over 2.5 goals (Bolton v Norwich) @1.80
Alan Pardew has bemoaned his striking options recently and goals look the main concern for the Toon Army this season. Newcastle have only scored 3 goals to date in the Premiership, with a Leon Best brace and a Ryan Taylor set piece the only goals to have managed to find their way to the back of the net. Neither Leon Best, Shola Ameobi or Demba Ba have managed double figures in the Premier League and Alan Pardew will have to keep games tight if his side is to come away with a result; as has been the case so far this term. The return of Hatem Ben Arfa however, could be crucial.
Aston Villa under Alex McLeish are unlikely to be much of an attacking force. New signing Charles N’Zogbia has yet to dazzle and key man Darren Bent looks worryingly quiet at present. With just 5 goals scored for the Villains so far another low scoring affair seems likely.
Under 2.5 Goals (Aston Villa v Newcastle) @1.83
