Premier League Tips – 9-10 April

This week our Premier League tips come from Upton Park as Arsenal take on Champions League chasing West Ham and from the south coast as troubled Newcastle take on Southampton.

Premier League Betting Tips

West Ham (3.60) v Arsenal (2.00); Draw (3.50)

West Ham extended their unbeaten streak to nine games in all competitions with a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace culminating in their third successive draw.

Former Hammers manager Alan Pardew was in the opposition dugout last weekend and he saw his side take the lead only to be pegged back shortly before the half time interval with another sublime free kick from talisman Dimitri Payet.

Visitors Arsenal have bounced back from their Champions League and FA Cup exits to maintain their faint hopes of a title challenge.

Victories over Everton and Watford has seen the mood slightly lifted in north London and you have to go back to 2007 to recall the last time Arsenal lost to West Ham before this season.

Arsenal have won 13 of their last 16 meetings against West Ham, but with the Hammers chasing Champions League football expect Slaven Bilic’s side to keep in the hunt for a top four finish.

Southampton (1.53) v Newcastle (6.00); Draw (4.00)

Southampton became the latest side to suffer a single goal defeat to league leaders Leicester City, but the Saints can count themselves unfortunate to lose all three points that day.

Ronald Koeman’s side came from two goals down to beat Liverpool before the international break, but their quest to qualify for the Europa League for a second successive season remains in the balance.

Visitors Newcastle found themselves on the wrong end of a five goal thriller at Carrow Road, with the club losing valuable ground on one of their relegation rivals.

Head coach Rafa Benitez isn’t particularly experienced in managing a side who are fighting for survival and the impact of a new manager has yet to be felt for the Toon Army.

Opponents Newcastle are now six points adrift of safety and the travelling team are likely to find the going tough again this weekend.
