Premier League Tips – 28-29 November
A comfortable win for Leicester at Newcastle saw our football bets return a healthy profit last weekend, as Jamie Vardy scored for the tenth consecutive Premiership game.
This week our Premier League tips come from the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City host Southampton and White Hart Lane, as Chelsea take on Tottenham.
Premier League Betting Tips
Manchester City (1.50) v Southampton (6.50); Draw (4.33)
Manchester City have suffered back to back defeats against Liverpool and then midweek against Juventus, which has now put their Champions League qualification hopes in the hands of Juventus. The Citizens must now beat Borussia Monchengladbach and hope Juventus lose to Sevilla to stand any chance of topping the group.
Visitors Southampton arguably had their worst result of the season with a home defeat to Stoke City where they were evidently missing the presence of Graziano Pelle upfront through suspension. The Italian will be back for Ronald Koeman’s men and the defeat saw them lose ground on the European places, as Tottenham now sit four points ahead of them in fourth place.
Koeman will be apprehensive about travelling to the Etihad Stadium after losing in each of his last five visits to the blue half of Manchester.
Despite City getting a stuffing from Liverpool on their own turf at the weekend, City will be confident of getting back to winning ways at home, after previously scoring 14 goals in four games prior to the defeat at the Etihad.
Southampton have had some joy away from home this season with a draw at Anfield and a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side need to bounceback with a resounding win and the hosts should duly deliver on Saturday.

Manchester City to win @1.50
Tottenham (2.40) v Chelsea (2.90); Draw (3.50)
Tottenham face their third consecutive London derby and this time it’s Chelsea they prepare for, after facing Arsenal and West Ham. So far Spurs have gained four points, but they face a Chelsea side who look to be regaining some of the form that crowned them Premier League champions last year.
Jose Mourinho has now seen his side gain back to back victories, which have also produced clean sheets in both games but John Terry’s injury in the midweek Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv was a blow and the skipper is now set to miss the trip to White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t seen his side lose in the Premier League since the opening day of the season which is in complete contrast to Mourinho who has encountered a staggering seven defeats in the league already.
A 1-0 win over Norwich City last weekend wasn’t particularly pleasing on the eye but it is another three points on the board as they look to reduce the deficit in the league. The last time Chelsea finished outside of the top four was when Roberto Di Matteo was in charge for the 2011/2012 season, but crucially they went on to win the Champions League that year, which meant they qualified for the competition the following season.
Both sides are likely to take a draw, but one game that still sits in the memory bank from last season is Tottenham’s sensational performance in this fixture last year where they won 5-3 and with Harry Kane now in full flow you wouldn’t bet against the Tottenham forward carrying on his good form this weekend.
