Premier League Tips – 19-20 March

This week our Premier League tips come from Merseyside as Everton face Arsenal and from south Wales as bottom side Aston Villa travel to Swansea.

Premier League Betting Tips

Swansea (1.61) v Aston Villa (5.50); Draw (3.80)

Swansea City have edged themselves closer towards safety with victories over Norwich City and Arsenal in recent weeks.

A 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth last time out my have ended that run, but the Welsh club do have an eight point gap over Sunderland and they can take another step towards safety with a win against bottom side Aston Villa this weekend.

Visitors Aston Villa have accumulated just 16 points this season and the club can have no complaints about being sent down to the English Championship. The Midland’s side have lost the last five games on the bounce, conceding 17 goals during that run and question marks remain over whether Remi Garde will be in charge for Villa’s Championship charge next season.

Hosts Swansea will be looking to repeat the victory they achieved at Villa Park earlier in the season and coach Alan Curtis has done a good job supporting Francesco Guidolin through ill health.

The Swans have won each of the last four meetings between the two sides and another victory against the Premier League’s bottom club looks a strong possibility this weekend.

Everton (2.50) v Arsenal (2.70); Draw (3.40)

Romelu Lukaku’s sensational strikes against Chelsea sealed their passage into the semi-finals of the FA Cup. It showed a lot of character from Roberto Martinez’s side to bounce back from the 3-2 defeat to West Ham where they were 2-0 up and also had a missed penalty. It would’ve been particularly satisfying for Lukaku who missed the penalty at 2-0 but also had the satisfaction of scoring the two winning goals against his former club who never gave him a proper look in.

For opponents Arsenal, it’s been a case of deja-vu, with the club being eliminated in the Champions League by Barcelona, knocked out of the FA cup as holders by Watford and fade away in the Premier League title race to nine points behind leaders Leicester.

Hosts Everton currently sit in 12th position, but the Toffees have a dismal record against Arsenal having won just one of the last 19 meetings in all competitions, but buoyed by their FA Cup victory over Chelsea, Roberto Martinez’s side may fancy their chances against a fading Arsenal side.
