Premier League Tips – 17-18 October

A win for Crystal Palace against the Baggies before the international break saw our Premier League tips return some profit two weeks ago.

This week our Premier League tips come from Southampton as the Saints take on Leicester and Vicarage Road as Arsenal take on newly promoted Watford..

Premier League Betting Tips

Southampton (1.75) v Leicester (4.50); Draw (3.80)

Ronald Koeman is slowly starting to turn Southampton’s season around after a sluggish start to the season which ultimately undone all their hard work last year.

Defeat in the final Europa League qualifying stages saw them bow out and now they’ll be equally determined to give themselves another shot in Europe.

Leicester City meanwhile are dreaming of a place in Europe and sit in fifth place as one of the surprise packages this season under Claudio Ranieri. The squad have carried the momentum from last season and are scoring goals for fun with 17 this season in the Premier League which is only bettered by Manchester City.

Both teams have conceded their fair share of goals as well with Southampton still looking to gel with some new additions in defence as well as a new goalkeeper with Fraser Forster out with a serious knee injury. Leicester concede on average just under two goals per game in the league and makes the both teams to score market appeal between these two.

Watford (6.00) v Arsenal (1.57); Draw (4.00)

Arsenal make the short trip across London to Vicarage Road which is typically a ground they’ve favoured.

In three games at Watford they’ve won all three but only Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky were part of the most recent visit to Watford in 2006. Goals were often in abundance when these two sides meet at Vicarage Road but this year they’ve transformed into a much more solid outfit defensively.

In their four home games on their return to the Premier League, they’ve conceded just one goal and that was in the recent defeat to Crystal Palace and that came from a penalty. Unfortunately however, they’ve only scored one goal at home and are too reliant on Odion Ighalo who has scored five of their six Premier League goals.

Arsene Wenger’s side will head into the game full of confidence after their demolition job of Manchester United in the first 20 minutes which proved the deciding factor as they held on to their 3-0 advantage. They made light work of the league leaders and the victory took them above Louis Van Gaal’s side in the process and they now trail Manchester City by just two points.

Despite an abysmal start to their Champions League group, Arsenal have been in good form in the Premier League with eight goals in their last two games. Defeats to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos has put their hopes of qualifying from the group in serious jeopardy and will now need to get at least 3-4 points in the double header against Bayern Munich.
