Premier League Predictions 5th Feb & 6th Feb

The Sunday showdown between at Stamford Bridge dominates the Premier League fixtures this weekend with Fernando Torres’ debut for Chelsea coming against his old club Liverpool.

Goals for Newcastle United are a problem for Alan Pardew, especially with Andy Carroll leaving to ply his trade over at Anfield. Only once have Newcastle scored more than one goal in their last 7 games and that was a Leon Best inspired hattrick against an out of sorts West Ham side.

Saturday’s opponents Arsenal have conceded only 1 goal in their last 5 games and look more assured at the back with Djorou and Koscielny. Arsenal are in good form winning 4 out of 5 games and only dropping points at home to Manchester City and with Fabregas and Van Persie back in the side and in form, the Gunners should have too much for Newcastle at St James Park.

Results for Manchester City have not been great as of late, with a loss away to Aston Villa followed by an FA Cup draw against Notts County and a 2-2 draw last time out against Birmingham. Saturday’s opponents West Brom have a major concern over the fitness of star striker Peter Odemwingie and should the Nigerian miss the game at Eastlands then the chances of West Brom coming away with a result are even slimmer.

West Brom are in increasing danger at the moment winning only 1 of their last 8 Premier League games. West Brom have been losing at the break in their last 4 away games and Manchester City should have enough about them at Eastlands to get themselves in front at half time and collect the 3 points come 5 o’clock.
