Premier League Predictions – 30-31 March

League leaders Manchester United travel to Sunderland, but it is Norwich’s trip to the DW Stadium that could hold the most significance this weekend.

Sportingly Better picks out the best Premier League predictions this weekend as Manchester City host Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium.

Premier League Betting Tips

Manchester City (1.30) v Newcastle (12.00); Draw (5.75)

Last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park all but ended Manchester City’s chances of the title, but Roberto Mancini will still be looking to tie up second place and finish the season strongly.

The Citizens boast a phenomenal record at home in the league and the reigning English champions are undefeated in 37 of their last 38 matches at home in the Premier League.

Sergio Aguero comes back into the fray after three weeks out with a knee injury, but captain Vincent Kompany will have to be assessed prior to kick off after disappointing his manager and turning out for Belgium in the week.

Six of Manchester City’s ten wins at home this season have been by two or more goals and with a summer overhaul at Eastlands likely, the current roster of players will be keen to stake their claims for a place in the squad next season.

Opponents Newcastle suffered their ninth defeat on the road last time out after Arouna Kone’s late strike secured all three points for Wigan at the DW Stadium.

The Magpies have a Europa League quarter final match against Benfica to look forward to on Thursday, but manager Alan Pardew may choose to prioritise some of his troops for that clash.

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of Newcastle’s last eight matches in the Premier League. BACK over 2.5 goals @1.57.

Although not yet safe, Newcastle’s survival will likely hinge on the next two matches against Fulham and Sunderland (both at St James Park), but the Magpies lack of shut outs will only be exacerbated by injuries to Chiek Tiote, Mathieu Debuchy, Davide Santon and Massadio Haidara at the back.

Manchester City have scored at least two goals in each of their last nine meetings against Newcastle in all competitions and the Citizens should ultimately net at least twice and clear the handicap on Saturday.
