Premier League Predictions – 3-5 November

Manchester United brought themselves to within a point of leaders Chelsea last weekend after a dramatic 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge.

Champions Manchester City kept pace on their rivals with an unconvincing victory against Swansea, whilst the spoils were shared in the Merseyside derby.

Reading and Fulham played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Madejski Stadium,  Arsenal resurrected their recent slump with a narrow win over QPR, whilst Tottenham reinforced their Champions League credentials with a 2-1 victory at Southampton.

Premiership Betting Tips

Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off comes from Old Trafford as Manchester United face Arsenal.

Ten goals were shared in this fixture last season as Manchester United ran out 8-2 winners and with the in-form Rooney and Hernandez in attack and the addition of Van Persie; the United front line has never looked stronger.

The return of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia will provide some much needed width to Sir Alex Ferguson’s side who lead the way in the goalscoring charts, after missing out on the Premiership title last season on goal difference.

The threat down Manchester United’s right could be key with Rafael and Antonio Valencia contributing well early on against Chelsea last weekend as Manchester United raced into an early lead.

Visitors Arsenal have stuttered since the international break and even Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski are yet to find their early season swagger.

The Gunners kicked out of their recent slump with a narrow 1-0 win over QPR and Arsenal’s exhilarating comeback against Reading in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday, could reinvigorate their league form.

Theo Walcott is pressing for a start after scoring a hat-trick in the week and the Liverpool target could enjoy success against a declining Patrice Evra down the Arsenal right. Gervinho has joined Diaby, Gibbs and Szczesny on the sidelines but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return for the Gunners.

Manchester United have won seven of their last eight games against Arsenal at Old Trafford in all competitions and the chance of another United victory (1.70) is a strong possibility given the mixed fortunes of the two clubs recently.

Both sides were involved in pulsating high-scoring cup ties during the week and the likelihood of goals looks high with Robin Van Persie desperate to prove he made the right decision to leave Arsenal over the summer.
