Premier League Predictions – 29-30 January

Aston Villa and Newcastle face off at Villa Park on Tuesday with both sides desperate to pick up three points.

Elsewhere Arsenal take on Liverpool, leaders Manchester United host Southampton and champions Manchester City take on QPR at Loftus Road; a game which could have implications at both ends of the table.

With bonus Premier League action over the next two days, we’ve picked out the best Premiership betting tips including Tottenham’s trip to Carrow Road.

Premiership Betting Tips

Norwich (4.33) v Tottenham (1.83); Draw (3.60)

Norwich’s shock exit to non-league Luton in the FA Cup last weekend was the lowest point of manager Chris Hughton’s reign at Carrow Road and the Canaries will be looking to bounce back with a good performance against Tottenham on Wednesday.

Tottenham themselves suffered a surprising cup exit at Elland Road, but Andre Villas-Boas’ side are unbeaten in their last seven matches in the Premier League and currently sit in an all important Champions League place.

The recent hip injury to Jermaine Defoe, along with Emmanuel Adebayor’s inclusion to the Africa Cup of Nations poses a problem for Villas-Boas, who looks set to play Clint Dempsey in a forward role. New signing Lewis Holtby could be favoured in the vacated central attacking midfield slot either side of Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale.

Hosts Norwich have lost five of their last six games in the Premier League including a 5-0 defeat at Liverpool last time out and the Canaries are in danger of slipping into a relegation dogfight if their recent run of form is not arrested.

Only Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have come away with all three points from Carrow Road and Chris Hughton’s side will at least take some positives from their home form.

Sebastian Bassong is unlikely to face his former club due to a calf injury, whilst John Ruddy and Steve Morison are both ruled out.

Norwich’s public quest to find a striker has seen several bids for Gary Hooper been rebuffed by Celtic and the Canaries will have to pay over the odds if they are to land the England hopeful by Thursday’s deadline.

Norwich have a good recent record against Spurs including a win in the Capital One Cup earlier in the season, but Tottenham will be eager to assert their position as Champions League contenders on Wednesday.
