Premier League Predictions – 28-29 April

Wolves were relegated to the Football League Championship last weekend after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The Black Country side have won just one of the last 21 games in the league and Terry Connor’s side travel to Wales to face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. Wolves have not scored in three games and the Swansea win to nil is attractively priced at 2.62 by most online bookmakers. Wolves also have to do without number one goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey who misses the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Opponents Swansea picked up a 1-1 draw last time out against Bolton, but Brendan Rogers’ side were again guilty of missing chances. January loan signing Gylfi Sigurdsson remains the class act and a win could push the Welsh side as high as 10th in the Premier League.

Swansea have a good record at the Liberty Stadium and the pace and passing play of the Swans should be too much for relegated Wolves on Saturday.

Aston Villa fell deeper into relegation contention on Tuesday night after a 2-1 defeat against Bolton.

The backlash against manager Alex McLeish appears to be at an all-time high and Aston Villa find themselves without a win in seven Premier League games going into Saturday’s local clash with West Brom.

Victory for West Brom could push the Baggies up to 8th in the league, with a top half finish a real possibility for manager Roy Hodgson. After just two wins in the opening 12 home games, the Baggies have turned around their form at the Hawthorns, winning four of the last five games, where they have kept a clean sheet in each match. A West Brom win to nil is generously priced at 3.60.

West Brom’s recent shut outs at home will not help Aston Villa who have scored just two goals in their last five away games. Villa have won just twice in their last 16 games and the Midlands club have severely missed the goals of Darren Bent, with weaknesses in the squad also being highlighted.

With West Brom kicking into form especially at home, another victory seems likely as Aston Villa fight for Premier League survival.
