Premiership Betting Tips

Manchester United (1.16) v QPR (15.00); Draw (7.50)

Manchester United were knocked off top spot last weekend after stumbling to a 1-0 defeat against Norwich at Carrow Road.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back with a win at Old Trafford and only Tottenham have take points off Manchester United at home this season. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have averaged three goals a game in the Premier League at Old Trafford and the wealth of attacking options look set to again dominate proceedings.

A host of first-team players were rested for the midweek defeat against Galatasaray in the Champions League, whilst Wayne Rooney looks likely to return from injury. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are also back in contention, which should dramatically improve the defensive showing for the Red Devils over the coming weeks and hectic Christmas period.

Mark Hughes’ reign as QPR came to an end this week, following last weekend’s 3-1 defeat against relegation rivals Southampton. New manager Harry Redknapp will be at the game on Saturday and the reality of the task ahead should not be more clearer for Redknapp come the final whistle.

Win-less QPR remain bottom of the Premier League and the London club have the joint worst attack (9 goals scored) and the second worst defensive record (23 goals conceded) in the top flight. Five defeats in six on the road highlights the poor showing QPR have enjoyed on the road this season.

With leaders Manchester City not playing until Sunday, a win for Manchester United will take the Red Devils back to the top of the table and a return to Old Trafford should see a return to winning ways for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.
